The Highway 24 Ghost is rumored to be an escaped slave who died in the 1860s of diphtheria and was buried in a nearby home's basement. He is said to carry a leather bag while walking west bound on the north side of the road, usually between 1 and 2 AM.

me and my friends and there mom went down this road and the cars heat system was being weird then it completely shut off. We got out of the car at one point and took a picture of the sign and there was a tall figure in the picture

I was on highway 34 driving north and all of a sudden in 104 temperature it got so cold and u could c my breath andy kids I didn't think anything of it being from Burlington Iowa pranksters out there
But when my car just shut off and wouldn't go back on for 30 seconds I was freaking out..
