Mary Frances Hall - Clarke College
Dubuque, IA 52001
"This hall dates back to 1924 and is called Mary Fran by students. It is also rumored to be haunted by the school founder, Mary Frances Clarke. Students have reported hearing footeps in the hallways and experiencing an uneasy feeling of someone watching them. A shrouded apparition has also been seen near the chapel. The fourth floor, used for storage, is also said to be haunted by a ghostly nun who hanged herself. She is said to bleed on the floor. An etching on the window that reads ""Help me."" has also been reported. Paranormal activity is said to decrease as more students occupy the dorm.
Built in 1965, Mary Benedict Hall is also rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of former students and the founding sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Books and tickets have flown off the shelves and a shrouded figure has appeared in the hall on west wing of the 3rd floor. Water has also been reported to run in the bathroom on its own at night."
