Vegors Cemetery Reviews
Lehigh, IA 50557
My partner and I went to the cemetery around dusk. We were taking photos and reading through the headstones. We noticed lots of flowers had blown into the trees, so my partner went to pick them up and place them back on graves. While she was doing that, I felt a tug on the back hem of my jacket.
We heard the drums that many others report. Still can’t debunk those either.
We also heard someone make a shushing sound near Mrs. Lott’s monument. Around this time, my partner and I were talking and taking pictures.
Lots of unexplained activity. Lots of animal activity as well.

A group of our adult friends about 5 of us went to visit during the day and again that night. We took multiple photos of orbs, the E.V.P. went off several times...it was very eerie at night. We spread out over the cemetary..taking numerous photos...heard the sound of drums. Also all of us heard a woman's blood- curdling scream, we all ran to our car. We were shaking with disbelief. After reviewing photos we seen several ghostly shapes in the tree-line...we could hear coyotes howling nearby...as we drove down the hill above the Vegors Iron sign above the road we photographed it. After reviewing those photos there must have been 20 orbs above it..all multiple sizes and colors. Our friend Scott visited the cemetary on a separate occasion..his camera and the battery on his car died. The camera had new batteries. He felt the presence of Arizona following him. I had a separate experience near the Lott monument..on my phone with a ghost app..it gave a name- then when I asked how they died it said electricity from a needle...it really scared me. There is definitely some odd things going on there. I've heard some people hear a stagecoach if you roll down the hill...I won't even try it. We talked to some paranormal investigators from DesMoines..during a daytime visit. This is not for the faint of heart, others have had trouble breathing- a heavy pressure of dread.

Went to the cemetery to see if it was haunted. A lot of deer and coyote do haunt the cemetery. Heard them in the woods all around the place. The cemetery itself is small and pretty. Brought my emf detector and spirit box but nothing occurred. The constant movement of the wildlife in the woods can be a bit unnerving, but it’s just deer and they’re not going to hurt anyone. Be careful while driving though because they might accidentally hurt your car. I would love to go back and spend more time there. It’s very peaceful, and I’d love to spot some deer.

Went to the cemetery around midnight. Had a reputable app on my phone that could detect EMF and could generate words based on the detection. Meter would go red by the treeline off the main driveway, and then in the NE corner of the cemetery. First word we got was "coffin". We then heard a coyote yip. Next word was "crying" and it instantly sounded like we were surrounded by a whole pack of coyotes. As we were leaving, my phone fell off my holder twice into my lap. It had not done that on the way there, and as soon as we left the cemetery, it didn't do it on the way home. Definitely a creepy experience.

anyone who is actually familiar with local history, knows half the stories about this place are just that, stories, I especially like the ones about a woman who isn't even buried there, just a monument locals put up to honor their white washed history.

I went to Vegors last year. I recorded from the car and caught a Native American woman on video. Not some oh maybe it could be- No. Its very clearly a woman with her hair in a braid draped over her chest. We got out of the car and walked around and could hear distinct Native calls from the trees around us. It kept getting louder and louder until we said that we’re not to hurt you. It then quieted down. I felt 3 small tugs on the back of my shirt. I’m thinking it was Arizona Jones, a little girl that has been reported to follow people around here. I’m pretty sure I saw her from the other side of the cemetery as I was leaving. She had a white aura around her. There was also an old slave that followed us home named Carter. We have a psychic friend that could see him and he told us that he was wearing old ripped up clothes with chains around his arms and legs. He kept opening and closing the sliding patio door at the apartment one night to get our attention. We asked him to leave one night. Very haunted and active place. I recommend you go during a full moon since that is when paranormal activity is at its highest.

About five years ago, a friend and I decided to take an impromptu trip at 1 in the morning. We decided to pick a random, allegedly haunted location. This was about two hours away from where we were, so we said, "Why not?"
We go, bring sage with us, and start apologizing to the native spirits whose graves were disturbed and moved because of white people. (We are both white, so we felt the need to express regret towards the actions of others.)
We left the burning sage on one of the large rocks when you walk in, and when we were leaving, the smoke lead us out all the way to the main road from the gravel. It wasn't fog, it was literally a trail of smoke that disappeared once we exited.
There were also a lot of disembodied voices and sounds coming from the woods. Non-animal, but also non-threatening. Just...creepy.

A group of teens from the area talked up the scare factor to one of their buds. They drove to Vegors one night. Several other teens were hiding behind headstones. They made the usual moans and screams. The frightened young man took off running and ran the 3 miles to town!
That's the only ghost story I've heard about from there!
It is a beautiful old Cemetery set on the hill over the river valley.

I have been going to the bridge near by for fishing, or tubing at the river. However, being young it is a place a lot of teens visit. However, when i visited as a teen, and even now driving past as an adult, i have always gotten an uneasy feeling. I have only entered the cemetery maybe 3 times, but every time my mind fixates on this one small opening in the trees. Even my friend admitted she couldnt stop looking at it. We felt uneasy and left after losing track of time being fixated on the one small opening in the trees. They also say, there's this "ritual" you can do on the big hill there that, if done correctly, will show you the stairway to heaven

Very interesting location near the Des Moines River. Coyotes run through and around the cemetery. We did have one unexplained experience. However, the local kids like to party there, so be prepared for interruptions. Check out our website and YouTube regarding Vegors and others locations.

my friends and I went to vegors many times last summer and we walked through the whole cemetery to see the really old graves and sat near the memorial of mrs.lotts and then sat on a cement bench, first we heard a whistle and then a huge sound of voices as if you were in a stadium occurred and became louder and louder and got closer to us. we decided to move around and continued hearing whistles and drums and sounds mimicking what sounded like Indian calls. we heard screams, and you feel such a presence of paranormal activity while being here it is very active.
