Was amazing! The second year I've gone and loved it both times. I just wish that they didn't have the poping breaker box. It is really loud and hurt my ears. I'm fine now! Just wish they would take that out. Also, maybe some more jumpscares? Like the people that pop out at ya.

the thrashers house of terror was terrifying. i went with two of my friends and we were screaming the whole time. the maze at the end was so scary and we almost got lost in it 😭

It’s a nice haunt if you have nothing to do on a Friday night. It’s 100% kid friendly in my opinion. I do wish there was less dark rooms and more to see. The dark rooms kinda take away from the scary stuff.

this was my first haunted house ever. I was so scared in the first room that I was on the floor screaming and crying that my dad had to pick me up and take me to the next room. it was one of my best experiences ever I would definitely recommend it.

I have been going throughout the years since I was a teenager. This year I got to bring my 9 year old cousin for the first time. He loved it, and also was a bit scared at times. I enjoyed it and thought it was fun. Definitely worth the $15!

The kids loved it. The haunted house plays on every fear. I had to tap out of the haunted house. The group really did a wonderful job and was well thought out. Go check it out. We came from 2 1/2 hours away to see for ourselves.

Heard about this for years and finally had the chance to go. I loved every minute of it. The haunted train was fun and the haunted trolly while aimed at kids was enjoyable since we got to pet the headless horseman horse. The cherry on top was the house of horror. They had people in costume walking in the queue that would sneak up on you. Before you enter there's a chalkboard of tallys of people who chickened out which adds to the intimidation. Not gonna spoil what you see inside but you'll have a great time.

We absolutely loved this attraction! We screamed, cussed, and laughed the whole way through. It was my 14yr old first time. And, he walked out with a huge smile! Higley recommend. Worth the drive. The volunteers, were amazing 👏 🤩

I went to thrashers about 8-10 years ago and it was so lit up it couldn’t be scary… this one was much better this go around.. it was actually able to scare my kid this time!

Honestly very predictable and unorganized. There was a section where about 50 people were back up stuck in one spot. Three groups got stuck together the entire time making the jumps and scares Pointless because I knew they were coming.

I got so scared at one point I ran into a table by accident lol overall it was fun and I'll definitely go again next year. I thought the price was a little high but due to inflation I try to be understanding of those things.

Took my daughter on the 21st. We purchased the normal $15 dollar tickets. Waited in line for approximately 2 1/2 hours. During that long wait, a small group directly in front of us touched an "actor", the clown looking guy in a straight jacket. The actor then got in the kids face and cussed at him very angrily and stated he will have them kicked out if he touches anyone else. A very few seconds after that was dealt with, the group ahead of even them had a member trip and grazed the back of the actors head. The actor then ripped costume off and went full on ballistic at the 2 groups of 10ish high schoolers. Yelling and swearing very loudly. Demanded someone to come forward or he will have them all booted and banned from the grounds. The sheriff standing watch came over and descalated the situation. I understand that rules state that guests are not to touch the people in masks, the kid was in the wrong, but the guy in the straight jacket went way passed the level of correction. Idk if he was just having a bad day, but it was more intense than needed to be. After some talking with my shook up daughter, she wanted to keep on. When we finally got into the house, it was OK. Alot of young kids just standing around looking at ya, seems like they weren't sure what to do exactly. No blame towards them, maybe first time or un coached.

All in all, with the wait, the altercation, the unsure essence of some cast, we really didn't find it worth it.

Very detailed, good length, enjoyed the whole experience. It was a good build up outside and it continued throughout the haunt.

My very first time there and we Waited in line for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Once we got in it was nothing like how I thought it was going to be. I never got scared once the worst part about it was the wait in line, not being able to see where we’re going due to it being too dark and finally the one spot where “the inflatable walls closed in.” It was not at all worth the $15 per person for general admission. While waiting in line where was a group of 5-6 people smoking cigarettes and weed, they were asked to stop many times by other guests and they didn’t I More than likely won’t be returning for another year as I am extremely disappointed with tonight as I wasted time and money.

I've been to many haunted houses over the years, including high priced ones at amusement parks but this very affordable nonprofit takes the cake! The actors were interactive, the scenes were unique, and they did a great job disorienting you and then going for the scare. The claustrophobia and dark maze-like stretches really took you off guard! Especially putting textured walls in the dark areas where you're having to feel around to get to the next room. I wouldn't have made it through if I had been in front having to find my way alone!

I had an incredible time at this haunted attraction! The scare actors were fantastic, making the drive there totally worth it. Although I got lost in the dark, the fast-moving line and the overall price of admission made it a fantastic experience.

Being a visitor from out-of-state, I thoroughly enjoyed this attraction compared to things I have been to before. I could tell the hard work was put in to make this not a 2 minute attempt to scare me or even 5 minutes. It took a little bit to get through and it was a new experience at every turn. Different lighting was used throughout, costumes, and makeup were on point, and the actors did their jobs well trying to scare you by getting close and never touching you. The screams from the inside could not be heard outside to those waiting which made it even more fun. I liked the areas of darkness where you had to find your way as I was unable to get my bearings around me.
The only thing I would change is for the actors to sometimes not quit their scare because I was the last one in the group so I was sometimes forgotten about or interacted with. The girls in the “doll room” were amazing little actresses, I remember them the most along with the animal room.
It was a great value for the length and if I visit again during the season, I would totally go again.

They do a great job at using both animatronics and live actors. I love that they do a new haunt each year with new ideas and a new layout. Very reasonable pruce in comparison to other large cities.

Well worth the drive to go to. And if you want some children fun you can also attend their haunted rails with a haunted train and a haunted trolley.

It's also nice to know we aren't lining the pockets of a person cashing in on Halloween. These folks help support their non profit

I came on the first week first night to Thrashers House of Terror and I have it say it was AMAZING. But, when I came back on the 29th with a bigger group of friends, I realized many of the workers that were there before had there spots filled with an empty room and or less interaction between you and the actor/actress. Overall I would recommend going on the first or second week just to get the full experience and bang for your buck.

It was good, it had quite a few jump scares that got my group. I’m not sure if there was a shortage of actors, but it felt like there was so much empty space of darkness. However last years haunted house was a little bit better in my opinion. Overall this years was good, but a little below my expectations.

We live in the Des Moines metro and visit haunted attractions every year. We heard of this event in Mount Pleasant but didn’t attend until this year. After visiting nearly every event there is in Iowa, I can say this is the top, best event. It is friendly to all members of the family and is packed with things to do. Great community, great event and hats off to this museum who puts on such a quality event.

It's enjoyable but when everyone is doing chain saws and clowns they are less scary. Wandered in the dark more than got scared or surprised. The lady licking the window was different.

Went to Thrashers House for the first time ever, and I will be back again. Great sets, scares, and props. The attention to details in the rooms was impressive. Swamp room was one of a kind. Few of the jump scares made me scream. The dark hallways and confined spaces could freak you out. Actors were professionals and they stayed in character. Their costume was creepy and realistic. I recommend this place to all scare lovers.

I went a while ago and it was honestly the greatest time I've ever had! Set was creepy and made to look realistic. Scenes were unexpectedly unique and the actors and props were scary yet funny at times. Money well spent.

The haunt was scary than I anticipated. Visited on my friend’s recommendation and never regretted the decision. Entertainment at a reasonable price. The sets were realistic, and the scares were nerve wracking. The rooms had varying themes and many innovative scares. My wife jumped on couple of occasions. The actors’ timing was spot on. Food and drinks were awesome and affordable. Overall, we all had great time in the haunt.

Experience speaks volumes at this haunt with 12 successful years of entertaining IOWA. It is fresh as dew each year and is not a mean task to run it with positivity. Every passing year it gets bigger and better. It was a blast for my friends. It was their first time at the haunt and they got to laugh and scream or sometimes both at the House of Terror. Clowns, ghosts and goblins were spot on and the actors got their makeup and costumes right. Thank you thrashers.

It was my son’s first visit to a haunt and he loved the experience. We opted for fast pass so that we could skip the queue. The set design was creepy at best. The rooms had different themes and many hidden scares. We both screamed on couple of occasions. The actor’s makeup and costumes were spot-on. They seem to enjoy their job of scaring people. Entry fee was cheap enough for two people. If you live anywhere close by, I recommend you to stop in.

It was such a fun family night. The set design was creepy at best. It gives you a hint of things to come. The house had many mind numbing terrors and jump scares. Kudos to the artists, they effortlessly presented their act and made us scare so easily. Food and drinks were awesome too. Check it out if you are a fan of great scares.
