Growing Family Fun at Geisler Farms.
Maze + Fall Fun:
The Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch are open on the weekends during September and October. Our promotional partners are DEKALB, Casey’s General Store and Van-Wall Group Inc.
Corn Maze:
When people visit the Growing Family Fun Corn Maze in September and October, they are provided with a map and instructions on the maze activity. Our maze has two entrances on the north side of the field and two emergency exits on the east and west sides. There is no single way in and out of the maze. When we have dry conditions, the maze paths are smooth enough for wheelchairs and strollers.
Hidden inside the 10-acre cornfield are 20 fence posts. Each fence post is numbered and has a unique paper punch chained to it. When a fence post is found, guests punch the matching box on their maps. It takes guests, on average, 20 minutes to an hour to complete the maze. When all of the posts are found, guests show us their maps and receive a coupon for a free slice of Casey’s homemade-to-go pizza.
Share the Bounty:
Receive $1.00 off your corn maze admission by sharing one canned or packaged nonperishable food item. The limit is one food item per paid corn maze admission. Children age two and younger visit the corn maze for free. All donated food items will be given to the Des Moines Area Religious Council’s Emergency Food Pantry.
Fun Zone:
With the purchase of a corn maze admission, guests automatically receive access to the Fun Zone. The Fun Zone features 15 family friendly outdoor activities for children and adults to enjoy. The activities include the giant slide, jump pad, swings, a tractor tire swing, rubber duck races, patio maze, table maze, pedal karts, tricycles, hamster roll, corn bin, and corn hole toss game. We also feature two farmer built ADA-accessible hayracks.
Red Shed:
The Red Shed at Geisler Farms is the hub of all farm activity. Inside you may pay for admission to the Corn Maze and Fun Zone. You will also find ADA-accessible restrooms, concessions, tables and chairs, Iowa-made soy candles, homemade jams, and honey and frozen Emma Krumbee take and bake pies and apple crisp.
Pumpkins:
Geisler Farms is passionate about pumpkins. Nothing says fall like a sea of orange pumpkins on a green lawn. Our pumpkin patch is conveniently located next to the parking lot on the west side of the Red Shed. Pumpkins are sold on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no admission charged to visit the pumpkins. We do not have a hayride to our pumpkins. During the week, we harvest pumpkins from our 10-acre field and move them to our patch. During the peak in October, there are thousands of pumpkins to select from.
You may borrow one of our wagons and select the perfect jack o’lanterns. Before you complete your purchase, there are other fall decorations to select from including straw, corn shocks, Indian corn, heirloom pumpkins, squash and mini pumpkins. We have a weigh and pay station at the orange pumpkin shed.
Hours of Operation: Fridays: 1 pm - 6 pm Saturdays - Sundays: 10 am - 6 pm Oct 12: 1 pm - 6 pm
Admission Costs: Ages 3 and up: $8.00 Ages 2 & younger are Free
